My late Grandma Helen was an exceptional artist. She grew up in a time when women were not given the same opportunities they are today. When her last name was still Herrington, an artist patron in Kansas CIty offered to pay her entire tuition to the Kansas City Art Institute. Her mother discouraged this opportunity, and so her talents were shared with her family and friends and not the greater community.
When I attended the Kansas City Art Institute, my grandma shared her story with me. I committed then to allow art to be a part of my life and my work regardless of the occupation in which I found myself.
A few years ago, my husband was active duty in the Marines and we were stationed in Alexandria, VA. Virginia is almost a Southern state in their love for monogramming. I fell into embroidery as a hobby but soon discovered that digitizing was a greater interest to me.
The past 4 years of my life have since been spent learning different digitizing and editing software programs. It is my desire as a busy mom and Etsy shop owner, is to give every customer the best shopping experience possible. My efforts are to answer emails in a timely fashion and treat each shopper the way I would want to be treated.
I know the value of investing in a hobby and the importance of running a professional Etsy business. My goal is to provide unique fonts and designs to both monogramming business owners and people pursing their individual interests with embroidery.
Herrington Artistry s a company that puts people first. Rest assured that I will always work hard to make sure your shopping experience is positive.
