I grew up in Memphis, Tennessee in a thriving community of very talented artists and musicians. Golden times really! Music has always been my primary form of expression and I was actively involved in several groups when a series of events in 2005 led me to the conclusion that I wanted to check out for awhile. I landed in middle of the pacific ocean on the big island of Hawaii and fell in love with off-grid jungle dwelling. I sold the bulk of my earthly belongings and transplanted myself to a quiet farm a few minutes from the ocean in Hawaii. The only problem was that the music scene in Hawaii was nearly non-existent. In order to makes ends meet I did random construction and landscaping jobs, started a cleaning company, and more recently learned how to make soap. Farmer's markets are a big part of the culture here and I kept meeting new friends who were making their own things and selling them at the Farmer's / Artist's markets happening on the island. I noticed a lack of good screen printed shirts and knew that I could make a go at it, so I bought some equipment and got to work designing and printing some sort of vintage revival style Hawaii shirts. I started setting up at the Hilo farmers market and during the quiet parts of the day, I began drawing. I wasn't very good, but I discovered a love for tools...compass, straight edge, stencils, etc. I researched the sacred forms and the philosophy surrounding them. I basically became obsessed with Geometry and how it relates to music. Hex Appeal was born from that. Its a vehicle for the passion and interest to travel psychedelically forward. So, lets go shall we?
