He querido cambiar el nombre de mi tienda desde hace algún tiempo. El antiguo nombre de Personal Stamp Shop, simplemente no tenía un gran anillo y ahora que he comenzado a ofrecer impresión nuevamente, el antiguo nombre simplemente ya no encaja.

Pero, ¿por qué PigsEye Design te estarás preguntando... Después de vivir en Tampa Bay durante 24 años, ya era hora de un cambio, uno drástico. Florida es agradable y todos, excepto mi esposa y yo, nos cansamos mucho del calor constante y el tráfico loco allí. Katie, mi esposa, terminó su maestría en 2017 y así comenzó a buscar un nuevo trabajo. Solo nos interesaban cuatro áreas. En el noroeste del Pacífico estábamos más interesados en Portland o Seattle con Denver y las Ciudades Gemelas en Minnesota completando nuestras preferencias. Terminó consiguiendo un trabajo con el VA aquí en Fort Snelling en Saint Paul, Minnesota.

No podríamos estar más felices. Nos encanta el clima frío, nos encanta la diversidad aquí, y nos encanta la falta de tráfico aquí también. Kismet, nuestro rat terrier, bueno, ella no es fanática del frío. Ella sigue preguntando cuándo vamos a regresar. Pobrecito...

Entonces, volvamos al nombre de la tienda. Me había estado devanando el cerebro para encontrar un buen nombre nuevo para él y el otro día me pregunté qué apodos había para San Pablo. Resulta que el nombre original de San Pablo era, lo creas o no, Ojo de Cerdo. ¡Perfecto! A todo el mundo le encanta el tocino y los ojos, por lo que encaja muy bien. :)

Y ahora, un poco sobre mí. Mi nombre es Ed y he estado en la industria de la impresión y los gráficos, de vez en cuando, durante muchos años. Soy diseñadora gráfica autodidacta. Conozco mis limitaciones y si el proyecto requiere un trabajo de diseño más allá de mis capacidades, tengo algunos diseñadores profesionales (incluso fueron a la escuela para ello) a los que puedo llamar al proyecto. Mi negocio "diurno" es como impresor y corredor de productos promocionales (especialidades publicitarias). Pero me encanta trabajar con la gente de Etsy. He hecho sellos durante muchos años y ese es mi producto principal aquí en Etsy. Pero, como mencioné, también he comenzado a enumerar artículos impresos. Si uno necesita algo impreso pero no tengo un listado para ello, por favor pregunte. Es muy probable que pueda ayudarte y darte un precio competitivo.

Toda la impresión se realiza en imprentas profesionales y comerciales. No uso copias o impresoras de oficina pequeñas cuando se trata de sus artículos impresos. Todo está hecho, 100% profesionalmente.

I've wanted to change my shop name for some time now. The old name of Personal Stamp Shop, just didn't have a great ring to it and now that I've started offering printing again, the old name just doesn't fit any longer.

But why PigsEye Design you may be asking... After living in Tampa Bay for 24 years, it was high time for a change - a drastic one. Florida is nice and all but my wife and I just grew very tired of the constant heat and the insane traffic there. Katie, my wife, finished up her masters degree in 2017 and so she started looking for a new job. We only were interested in four areas. In the pacific northwest we were most interested in Portland or Seattle with Denver and the Twin Cities in Minnesota rounding out our preferences. She ended up landing a job with the VA here on Fort Snelling in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

We couldn't be happier. We love the cold weather, we love the diversity here, and we love the lack of traffic here too. Kismet, our rat terrier, well, she's not a fan of the cold. She keeps asking when we're moving back. Poor thing...

So, back to the shop name. I had been racking my brain to come up with a good new name for it and the other day I wondered what nicknames there were for St Paul. As it turns out, the original name for St Paul was, believe it or not, Pigs Eye. Perfect! Everyone loves bacon - and eyes, so it fits great. :)

And now, a little bit about me. My name is Ed and I've been in the printing and graphics industry, off and on, for many years. I'm a self-taught graphic designer. I know my limitations and if the project calls for design work beyond my capabilities, I have a few professional (they even went to school for it) designers that I can call into the project. My "day-time" business is as a printer and broker for promotional products (advertising specialties). But I love working with Etsy folks. I've made stamps for many years and that is my main product here on Etsy. But, as I mentioned, I have started listing print items as well. If one needs something printed but I don't have a listing for it, please ask. It's very likely that I can help you and give you a competitive price.

All printing is done on professional, commercial printing presses. I don't use copies or small office printers when it comes to your printed items. Everything is done, 100% professionally.
