Handmade Gemstone and Polymer Clay Jewelry
My name is Ash and I have been making clay and crystal jewelry since 2021. I tried a few different mediums before I landed on clay, and settled on that once because it allows me to do so much and try so many cool things! All jewelry is made by me, by hand. I do use metal charms on occasion, but outside of that and fastenings, all parts of the pendant settings are made of clay by me. I use different techniques, from more traditional sculpting to "etching" in the clay to get the looks I want.
I take inspiration from so many things, but most of it comes from nature (I am also a field biologist who works with K9s to gather conservation related data!), myth (my area of study in school and a huge fascination for me), and magic (everything that this can encompass, from high fantasy type magic to the everyday magic that lives with all of us).
Polymer clay has the advantage of being cheaper than metal and also lighter weight. Larger stones still carry some heft, however, so be aware when choosing larger necklaces if you are sensitive to weight on the neck.
