The Hold-Tight Handrail
Hello,
My name is Steve Johnson, I’m a licensed and insured contractor in the state of Minnesota. I have spent the last 20 years as a handyman, home remodeler, home flipper and property owner. In 2012, I decided to focus all my efforts on the aging and disabled community finding effective ways to safeguard their homes.
That's when I started Home Freedom LLC where we specialize in services like ramps, railings, bathroom modifications, grab bars, etc.
Years of working in the field and listening to clients has inspired me to design and create new products for those areas of the home in need of innovation.
The Hold-Tight Handrail is one of these ideas. I’ve spent years dealing with the issue of adding railings to stairs of 1-3 steps to make them safe and easy to navigate. The Hold-Tight Handrail is a strong, cost effective and easy to install option. The jamb mount railing is unique in that it utilizes a custom angled bracket that screws into the wall studs from two different angles providing extra strength.
In the first concept I started with prototypes made of plastic and wood then I created the firsts working sample made of metal that I installed in my own home for testing purposes. I then began to create and install them for my local costumers who gave a lot of positive feedback and encouragement. In the fall of 2019, I decided to open a shop on Etsy to see if others would see the benefit of my idea and I have been producing more ever since.
All the work is done within my neighboring communities from the tube bending to the powder coating. The Railings themselves are boxed and shipped from my home in Plymouth, MN.
The Hold-Tight Handrail is the first of several ideas so please stay tuned for upcoming products.
I am committed to inventing and designing high quality products and providing superior customer service. I also love hearing from my customers and personally reply to all messages.
Thank you for your interest in my products and taking the time to read my story.
Sincerely,
Steve Johnson
