An Important Message from Hornet SimShop

For quite some time, I have personally absorbed the rising costs of tariffs, commercial energy-rate increases, materials, shipping, and nearly every other expense involved in operating Hornet SimShop. I continued doing so in the hope that these costs would eventually come back down. Unfortunately, they have not.

Rather than passing those increases on to my customers, I have kept HSS products priced below many less-detailed alternatives while continuing to improve their quality. Nearly every dollar of profit has been reinvested into tooling, prototypes, revisions, and the research and development required to create new parts.

That approach has now reached its breaking point. Hornet SimShop is facing a very real risk of shutting down entirely if I continue operating this way. To keep HSS alive, maintain the quality customers expect, and continue developing new products, pricing and availability will have to be adjusted.

This is not a decision I take lightly. Hornet SimShop is a one-person operation built through years of work, personal sacrifice, and a genuine commitment to producing the best flight-simulation parts I am capable of making.

To everyone who has supported HSS, placed an order, recommended the shop, or shared their setup: thank you. Your support is the only reason Hornet SimShop has made it this far, and I will continue fighting to keep it going.

UPDATE 12/21/2023

January 21, 2024: FYI: Just received the updated pricing from USPS and FedEx.... This country is going to shit.

USPS is increasing rates:
USPS Ground Advantage prices will increase by 5.4%
Priority Mail service prices will increase by 5.7%
Priority Mail Express service prices will increase by 5.9%
FedEx is increasing rates:
FedEx Express and FedEx Ground rates will increase an average of 5.9%
There will also be changes to shipping surcharges and fees that may apply to your shipment and affect your total shipping rate



UPDATE 12/5/2023

After seeking guidance from esteemed customers with expertise in legal proceedings and heeding their valuable advice on intellectual property protection, some files have undergone a re-release following the incident involving the "bad apple." Further releases are on the horizon, though embedding HSS identifiers in .STL files remains time-consuming, particularly as customer orders demand the majority of my time.

A heartfelt expression of gratitude to my valued customers for supporting the endeavors and craftsmanship at Hornet SimShop. Your unwavering loyalty is truly appreciated and doesn't go unnoticed. Thank you once again for being an integral part of our community and Happy Holidays to you and your families.


UPDATE 11/19/23

I am writing to inform you that all .STL files have been removed from circulation indefinitely. Regrettably, recent incidents involving the unauthorized sale of my intellectual property by individuals lacking ethical consideration have necessitated this decision.

It is disheartening to witness a disregard for intellectual property rights, and I must emphasize the importance of mutual respect within the creative community. The unauthorized sale and attempt to pass off my work as their own by certain individuals have led to this unfortunate measure.

I kindly request that all parties involved in such activities reflect upon their actions and consider the broader implications of their behavior. Respect for intellectual property not only preserves the rights of creators but also contributes to the growth and prosperity of our shared creative community.


UPDATE 10/1/23

Unfortunately due to 1 bad apple in the flight/DCS community selling HornetSimShop files as their own, I have removed 90% of the DIY .STL files and may finish off the remaining soon (act now while supplies last). Future DIY .STL files releases (landing boxes, right, left control boxes, AV-8B Dash kit, etc..) may be delayed due to these unfortunate circumstances.

UPDATE 4/27/23

WinWing MIP .STL's are out. I do realize these are some large prints (almost 300x300). With that being said, I will be offering these and the other printed parts starting May 2023. These finished out parts will be available in (2) variations.
- Directly off the printer, in a box and shipped to your door.
** If face plates / PCB's are purchased in conjunction, they will be shipped together, but packaged separately. **

- Finished out with carbon fiber (under visor) and texture (top of visor).
** If face plates / PCB's are purchased in conjunction, they will be installed fully, ready to "plug and play" , boxed, and shipped to your door.**

Lower console is now out and available. This is a (3) piece design for the smaller beds. If you would like the center and top as (1), that option is also available per request. As mentioned before, if you have previously purchased the complete dash pkg and would like the additional files at no cost, please send me a message.
*****CIRCUIT BOARD UPDATE*****
A couple files will change with the addition of the PCB's, these files are to include the left dash upper/lower MFD, Master Arm Housing and right dash upper/lower MFD, IR Cool housing. These charges are to add support and mounting for the incoming PCB's. That being said, the PCB's will have pre soldered leds, resistors, capacitors, buttons/switches (where applicable), header connectors, and ICU's. These will also include knobs, button covers, and panels for a (1) stop, shop and click. Both sides will be sold as a set, these sets will include:

RIGHT - R. Advisory Panel (painted, etched, w/color inserts), R.Advisory PCB w/light bleed isolator (SLA print included), APU fire button cover, R.Fire Button cover, MFD panel (painted, etched), M3x6 hardware (X2), M3X15 standoff (X2), MFD PCB, MFD selector knob w/set screw. IR Cool PCB ( both toggles, potentiometer, SPN RCY light bleed isolator, IR Panel (painted, etched, w/spn rcvy toggle & guard), (X2) 3Pin jumper harness, (X1) 4Pin jumper harness, and (X1)5Pin jumper harness. (ALL (3) panels connected via jumpers, main panel = IR_COOL. USB B micro connector.)

LEFT - L. Advisory Panel (painted, etched, w/color inserts), L.Advisory PCB w/light bleed isolator (SLA print included), Master caution button cover, L. Fire button cover, MFD panel (painted, etched), M3x6 hardware (X2), M3X15 standoff (X2), MFD PCB, MFD selector knob w/set screw, Master Arm PCB,( (X1) Toggle Switch, (X3) illuminated buttons pre soldered, (X1) 3mm LED), Master Arm Panel (painted, etched), Jettison PCB, Jettison button cover, (X2) 5Pin jumper harness, (X1) 4Pin jumper harness, and (X2) 3Pin jumper harness. (ALL (4) panels connected via jumpers, main panel = Master_Arm. USB B micro connector.)

Further more, unlike others out in the market, these panels are not strictly for DCS, as in, all buttons/toggles/switches are recognized as buttons just like your joystick/throttle. This way folks that fly multi aircraft can still bind dash buttons/switches to multiple aircraft, or even bind them to different games/keyboard macros. When in DCS, in the F/A-18, with DCS BIOS running (background app), is when all warning indicators will function/mirror the simulator.

UPDATE 11/9/22
New circuit boards are almost complete, final batch arriving in the next week or so. These will be made available as turn-key ( surface mounted parts and button/switches pre-soldered with all necessary cables (where applicable)). Face plates and possibly a couple other items will also be released at this time.

New panels and parts are to come very soon, I do appreciate your patience and continued support. Unfortunately due to extended shipping times at the moment and current lockdown situations around the world (cough, china, cough), I've had to source components elsewhere which has pushed release dates a bit further. Rest assured they will be available just as soon as possible. For DCS aviators, please come join us for a flight on 4YA / 555th servers.

UFC, BARO, AMPCD, Master Arm, & IR Cool .STL files have been posted, current listing have updated to include them. Also, all previous purchasers have been sent updated files to purchasing email. If I missed someone, please send me an email with your order number and I will rectify the oversight immediately.



UPDATE: 3/18/2022

Lower bases for the right and left dash have been separated into (3) pieces and are now included in active listings. I've also added a Full Dash Package $15 savings on entire kit. AMPCD Face Plate .STL file has been added to current listing. Visor/Sunshades have been trimmed down to 277mm X 245mm.***Right Control Panel Coming Soon, no DCS BIOS, only Plug & Play, Seat switch/ Defog handle/ and all (3) way switches working as should.

Hello fellow desktop aviator! Shop has just opened due to ongoing request for downloadable .STL files. These are ALL personal files and created personally by Me.

The remainder of the dash files are coming soon, these are to include R. HMD/MFD Base, R. MFD Housing, UFC & BARO Combo, Upper Control Box w/lid , HUD projector, Lower DDI base & Housing, HDG/CRS Housing, and Right Control Box. These parts were printed on a 500mmx500mmx500mm bed, as to say they are large prints, please be aware. Some parts may require you to rotate the object in your slicing program to fit to your bed.

This my own personal project others have requested I make public. The years that have been put into designing the pieces to fit my application (Desktop/Motion Sim), purchasing parts, and application subscriptions it is now here on Etsy only to try and recoup a little of what has be spent.

Personal customization is also an option, please feel free to contact me with request. If request pick up for a more user friendly print size (200mmx200mmx200mm- ish), I will edit the files to become "some assembly required" which may include threaded inserts and screws. We'll cross that bridge if we come to it.
