Mom who makes creepy embroidery designs
Hello! My name is Jess! I live in Portland Oregon with my partner and our young child.
I am a professional graphic designer & illustrator who has gotten frustrated with battling AI and just wants to make art that makes me feel good again.
During my childhood, I was always making things with my hands from sewing, to clay modeling, to working with beads, but I was always drawing. I eventually went to art school and majored in Illustration. My career post-college has been mostly computer-based. After we had our daughter, I was able to work less and start making more art again.
Over the pandemic, I discovered my love of cross stitch and embroidery, I fell in love with the texture and it slowed me down. Everything has just been so fast-paced, that embroidery helps calm me and helps me pay more attention to the little details. The pieces in my Finished Embroidery section were all stitched by me in the last 12 months!
Since I love to draw and miss it so much, I draw all of my patterns! All of the patterns available for purchase in my store were hand-drawn on my iPad by me from reference photos or old images from history.
Because of my work as a graphic designer, I have a fondness for fonts. I have developed cross-stitch font patterns based on some of my favorite fonts! I a always working on new patterns!
