Designing and sewing has been my passion for 30+ years. I have a rather large collection of designs that I'm in the process of digitizing so I can build my storefront. I work from my home studio in Boston, where I design and sew for my private clients. My patterns are representative of my own wardrobe. A tour of my closet would quickly reveal that I purchase very few RTW items. I'm a stickler for perfect fit and draft my patterns accordingly. Moreover, I like quick and easy assembly of patterns/garments, so I work hard to create patterns that go together effortlessly from the first phase of taping the paper together to the actual creation of the garment.

I'm also a concerned citizen and very much care about the environment. Women on average purchase 35 items of clothing per year and sometime only wear a fraction of those items. I try to make only a few key items per year and those items are samples I make for Hourglass Patterns. When I can, I purchase USA made fabrics. I buy bamboo fabrics for most of my knit samples. Rayon from bamboo trees are fully sustainable, regenerate in 55 days, require no pesticides, require little irrigation, and are biodegradable. Plus once you feel bamboo on your skin you'll be a convert. It has a natural lustre that can't be beat. It has beautiful drape. And I love how well it washes. It gets very soft after each washing and never pills like polyester. Hemp blends are also a sustainable fabric I use quite often.

-Easier, time saving pdf format so you don't have to overlap to match up points, simply abut the 8.5" x 11" paper and tape it
