The story of Howell Custom Lures
I started this company when I was 14 years old back in 2019, I got into fishing mostly through friends and YouTube videos. One day I came across a YouTube video by Milliken Fishing where he showed and explained how he painted fishing lures in his free time. I was very intrigued by this idea because I am generally a creative person, so I decided for my 14th birthday I wanted a airbrush kit from good old Amazon. Once I got my hands on the airbrush and some paint I instantly went to work and started practicing. I spent a lot of time just making color I think would catch fish. But one day in the middle of winter I decided it would be cool if I could make some money off of this. I researched and decided Etsy would be my best bet, I uploaded some listing but it was very slow so I created a Instagram and told all my friends about it so I slowly got a couple of sales and some great reviews. I am still in the process of finding out what works and what doesn't.
