The story of my shop
Welcome to Hubbart's Fandom!
🎨 A Lifetime of Being Artistic
I’ve always been a very artistic person. Growing up, I was always drawn to art and storytelling—in fact, my creative writing scores as a kid were completely off the charts. Back in the 90s, I did art classes for three years to learn the basics of design, and by my early twenties, I shifted that creative energy into writing song lyrics. Eventually, I moved to Utah to change my life, and my artistic nature came right along with me. I’m still an aspiring music artist in practice today, and I even have an unreleased song about my life journey. For me, designing and writing are just two sides of the same coin.
🚀 The Journey to Turning a Profit
My online business journey started back in 2015. Over the last decade, I’ve started and failed several websites and ideas, but I was always learning along the way. All that trying gave me a ton of practice with content creation and digital layout. The reality of building an independent business is that it truly takes years of hard work and consistency before you start turning a profit, and I’m proud of the grit it took to get here.
🛠️ My Process & Vision
Every single design in this shop is part of a vision, not just another random graphic thrown onto a shirt. My creative process is centered around non-trademarked fandoms that are deeply loved by so many of us. I love focusing on rich, timeless themes like:
Fantasy & Steampunk
Animals & Nature
Vikings, Music, and more!
I take these shared passions, build the vision, and put it all together into high-quality, wearable art that you won't find anywhere else.
💼 Overcoming Obstacles & Next Steps
Recently, I was let go from my day job. The job market out there is definitely tough right now, but when I’m not actively applying for positions, I am putting all of my extra time and energy into this shop. There are big things on the horizon, including our own independent website coming soon!
My ultimate goal is to grow Hubbart’s Fandom to the point where I can hire someone to run the day-to-day operations. Running this shop is absolutely fun, but it's also a lot of hard work. I want to get the business exactly where it needs to be so I can finally take a rest, enjoy life, and spend more quality time with my wonderful wife and daughter.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story and support what I do. I look forward to serving you!
