Hello! I'm Kara, the owner of Humming Bear LLC.
Humming Bear strives to bring the joy of creativity and the love of candles together through the aesthetics and scents of our hand poured soy candles. A lot of research, testing, and attention to detail goes into every product we create, so that you get a beautiful candle.
I started out making candles as a hobby, but launched as a business in July of 2023 with our first vendor event. Our Etsy shop soon followed in early August.
Our name, while unique, has a special meaning. It comes partly from my childhood nickname, Bear. But it also has a special connection to my grandparents. My grandma always loved to watch hummingbirds and my grandpa looked tough but was a giant teddy bear. They have both passed away at this point, but I wanted to keep them close to this creative endeavor that I know they would love and support.

5 out of 5 starsMy favorite candle shop! Wanted to try a new scent for summer. This one was a little stronger and has more of a floral undertone than I expected, but I really like it. I've been leaving it open in my living room and the scent carries even unlit.

5 out of 5 starsI love candles! Knowing I didn't need any more, I had my husband pick one out for "himself"😉. I'm not generally a pine fan, but the scent was subtle enough that I actually enjoyed this candle. It paired really nicely with the musk (a more masculine scent I enjoy).

5 out of 5 starsA wintery scent that's not too heavy, just clean and woodsy. My husband isn't usually crazy about evergreen candles, but he likes this one because it's more like a frosty forest than straight up Christmas tree scented. Would recommend!
