Jewelry are my way to meet people
So what's the story behind ILUMA's etsy shop?
My small business is located in Jaffa, the old city next to Tel Aviv, in Israel.
You might ask yourself, why is it important?
Well,I live in the heart of the flea market, where art galleries rub antique shops, small restaurants are found right next to wood and metal workshops, where Jews and Arabs live together in harmony by the sea, this unique place is undeniably a strong inspiration.
When I create new designs, I have to admit that I think about what I would like to wear myself, so as a silver lover, you may realize that most of ILUMA's creations are made of this noble material.
With time, while meeting my beautiful customers and realizing their desires and needs, I started to add some gold plated pieces. I have no regrets and I even find myself wearing golden jewelry now :)
So don't be surprised if one day you will discover new materials in ILUMA's shop.
I have a confession to make, I have to say, when I first opened my shop on Etsy, I was quite skeptical, "how is it possible to sell my designs without meeting my customers face to face, without them touching and trying on the jewelry?"
I was wrong... Totally wrong.
I found out that this platform has a kind of magic, it's own special intimacy, where meeting people and interactions are possible.
My first sale was on my birthday. Some Belgian girl, without knowing it, gave me a lovely birthday present, which gave me a lot of confidence to keep up with my work. While traveling in Belgium, I was fortunate to meet my first etsy customer, the beautiful Suzanne. She was wearing my jewels with such grace. Ever since, when I pass by Ghent, I don't miss the opportunity to meet her again... We have become good friends :)
My point ?
My experience on Etsy is not only about creations and sales, but it's also about meeting people with similar interests, style and values.
Now, that my creations are worn in Chile, USA, China, Canada, Australia, France, so many places all over the world, I feel that's crazy and incredible... Hoping this feeling will stay forever.
