If a tattoo is an art form, isn't it more appropriate to just create artwork that would later become a tattoo, rather than create what is recognized as a “tattoo design”? And by the artwork, I mean graphic, illustration, painting, photography, sculpture – realistic and abstract, any art that will later become a tattoo. This way, you are no longer confined to limited styles and given forms, and you are not bound by any fixed type of expression or technique. Instead of being tied to a form of tattoo design, you are free to create art which will become a tattoo later on. This way, you are only bound by your own imagination.

This is the idea behind ISaTA2. Don't just re-create one form which gets multiplied over and over again, but look for fresh solutions with each new design. Creating art is a continuously evolving process and even the smallest of designs are as unique as the person who created it. This approach does not fit in well with the widely known definition of tattoo design, and therefore requires openness and distance to both reality and yourself.
