From Pioneer PDF Patterns to a Global Top 0.1% Etsy Shop

iThinksew was founded in 2008 by four partners — Sue, her programmer husband, June, and her husband — with a shared vision to make sewing patterns more accessible through digital technology. In its early years, iThinksew helped pioneer the distribution of sewing patterns as PDF digital files, offering a wide range of designs including baby shoes, bags, and more.

What began as a small pattern company focused on bags and indoor shoes has grown into a diverse brand offering patterns for women’s apparel, dolls, embroidery, and many other categories. In particular, iThinksew is proud to offer one of the largest collections of bag sewing patterns available worldwide.

Although the journey included many challenges — including the need to rebuild and reopen the shop — iThinksew has grown into a top 0.1% Etsy shop. This achievement reflects years of dedication, innovation, and commitment to supporting makers around the world.

Sue is a world-renowned author & designer. She has published 5 books with C&T Pub 2 of which have also been published in German. She has also co-authored 5 books and many sewing magazines. Sue has been successfully running a ITHINKSEW since 2008.

June has worked with ithinksew since 2008, designing and developing over 950+ sewing patterns. She is the author of Sewing Machine 101: Sewing Machine for Absolute Beginners and currently operates four Etsy shops.
