Like so many... I have always been fascinated with rocks and gemstones. It's actually more of an obsession! Although I enjoy my share of costume jewelry, there's something deeply special about real stones...treasures of the earth. I began designing jewelry as a hobby over 20 years ago. It was a therapeutic way to decompress after working long days as a project manager for a large corporation. My bold and colorful designs added the perfect touch to every outfit and became my signature 'Icing'. I felt more put together every day, even on the weekends with jeans, t-shirt, and my icing! I began taking custom orders from co-workers, friends, and family and in 2003 my passion became my business, Icing Designs LLC.
For years, my jewelry collection was only available at select galleries and private weekend home showings. Many years (and changes) later, I'm thrilled to have opened my store on Etsy late 2020. Why not put more positive energy, love, and beauty out to the world by sharing my designs on Etsy! Life is a rollercoaster of highs and lows for all of us (it's what makes us human!), so why not 'live bolder and shine brighter' on this crazy ride together!
I grew up on the central coast of California. I attended Cuesta College and earned an AA degree in communications. I then attended college in San Diego, earning a B.S. in Business Management. Eventually, a career change took me to Utah where I lived and worked for 10 years. I now reside in Billings, Montana. Longing for another change, I earned my masters degree in education at Montana State University Billings, and taught middle school for many years before taking an early retirement! I have two grown sons, two spoiled yellow labs, time to travel more of the world, and a small business I'm passionate about.
I enjoy rockhounding (especially along the Yellowstone River), reading, board game nights, cooking, gardening, camping, and I love traveling. I have learned to appreciate the simple things in life, value deeper connections with family and friends, focus on gratitude every day!

Each piece of jewelry is beautifully gift-wrapped arriving in an organza fabric pouch placed in a non-tarnishing gift box with a silver polishing cloth, along with the design number and description, all wrapped beautifully with ribbon...ready to gift!
