Ir al buzón debe ser un evento emocionante. Cada Navidad me encontraba haciéndome la pregunta: "¿Por qué las tarjetas de Navidad no pueden ser geniales?", anhelando ver algo más que un Papá Noel cursi mal impreso en un pedazo de tarjeta endeble en un sobre que podría confundirse con pañuelo de papel. La celebración de la Navidad parecía estar pidiendo un cambio de imagen de diseño. Mi objetivo era simple, traer algo de la belleza de la Navidad a la tarjeta. Cree una obra de arte que no solo pueda traer una sonrisa a cada buzón, sino que también sea digna de exhibición.
Inspirado por la naturaleza, creo tarjetas para expresar la alegría de la temporada. ¡Que canten el cielo y la naturaleza!
SOBRE MÍ:
Mi madre me puso un pincel en la mano cuando era una colegiala y desde entonces me ha encantado crear arte. Estudié arte en la universidad hasta que pensé que necesitaba encontrar una mejor manera de pagar las cuentas, así que estudié y recibí mi maestría como Enfermera Practicante de Familia. Trabajé en VIH y SIDA con el deseo de ayudar a personas de todo el mundo. Cuando llegó mi primer bebé, mis ojos se abrieron a un mundo completamente nuevo, junto con él, el arte resurgió. Ahora, como una mamá de tres hijos que educa en el hogar, todos los días aprendo más sobre mí misma, el mundo y el Dios que lo creó todo. Mi arte es la expresión de las cosas hermosas en el mundo que veo.
Going to the mailbox should be an exciting event. Each Christmas I found myself asking the question, "Why can't Christmas cards be cool?", longing to see something other than a cheesy Santa poorly printed on a flimsy piece of card in a envelope that could be mistaken for tissue. The celebration of Christmas seemed to be begging for a design make-over. My goal was simple, bring some of the beauty of Christmas to the card. Create a piece of art that could not only bring a smile to every mailbox but would also be worthy of display.
Inspired by nature, I create cards to express the joy of the season. Let heaven and nature sing!
ABOUT ME:
My mom put a paintbrush in my hand when I was a school girl and I have loved to create art ever since. I studied art in college until I thought I needed to find a better way to pay the bills, so I studied and received my masters degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I worked in HIV and AIDS with a desire to help people around the world. When my first baby came along my eyes were opened to a whole new world, along with it, art resurfaced. Now as a homeschooling mama of three, every day I learn more about myself, the world, and the God who created it all. My art is the expression of the beautiful things in the world I see.
