Aviation to Engraving, with a Kidney Transplant Detour
I began laser engraving purely by accident while helping out a friend in California. While I was in town "working" at my job as a Corporate Pilot, to pass the days waiting to return home I would help him out in his shop, teaching myself and ultimately him, how to run a newly acquired laser engraver.
In September 2022, I was grounded when my one and only kidney had decided it had worked on its own long enough and needed some help. I had to start hemodialysis and then switched to Peritoneal Dialysis in December 2022. Due to the incredible generosity of a then stranger and now friend that answered an open plea on Facebook, I was blessed with a Living Donor Kidney Transplant in April 2024. I have been engraving during the entire process, and as of June 2025, I now hold an FAA 1st Class Medical and am back in the skies!
Due to my aviation background, you can see that come out in many of the products I offer. Taking things from an idea, to a prototype, to a finished product is very satisfying.
