Cuando era niña, recuerdo estar hipnotizada por los adornos y las creaciones artesanales que mi abuela decoraba su casa con cada temporada navideña. Siempre me ha interesado cómo se hacen las cosas y los recuerdos que pueden rodear incluso los artículos más simples. En la universidad, aprendí varias técnicas de arte de fibra, incluyendo costura, tejido, ganchillo, punto de cruz y construcción de adornos. Después de dejar la universidad, pasé varios años como maestra, pasando mi tiempo libre creando manualidades divertidas y significativas para las personas en mi vida.
a la edad de 33 años, me encontré construyendo mi vida de nuevo desde cero y descubriendo qué cosas en mi vida eran realmente cosas que amaba o cosas que me habían dicho que amara. Fue en este tiempo que también salí como bisexual para las personas en mi vida. Comencé a crear adornos y artesanías de punto de cruz que representan las ideas y fandoms que ayudaron a definirme como persona. Sé que muchas personas han extraído una fuerza y un sentido de pertenencia similares de estas cosas y esperan crear el mismo sentido de nostalgia y alegría en cada pieza que creo.
Como miembro de la comunidad LGBTQ y orgullosa madre de una hija LGBTQ, encuentro que la inclusión y la representación son extremadamente importantes y necesarias para que prosperemos como sociedad. Espero proporcionar un espacio e ideas que compartan estos puntos de vista y permitan que otros sepan que no están solos. El amor es Amor es Amor y cada pieza que creo está creada con amor y amabilidad y desea que disfrutes de estas obras tanto como a mí me encantó hacerlas.
As a child, I remember being mesmerized by the ornaments and crafting creations my grandmother would decorate her house with each holiday season. I have always had an interest in how things are made and the memories that can surround even the simplest items. In college, I learned several fiber art techniques including sewing, knitting, crochet, cross stitch, and ornament construction. After leaving college I spent several years as a teacher, spending my free time creating fun and meaningful crafts for the people in my life.
at the age of 33, I found myself building my life over again from scratch and discovering which things in my life were truly things I loved or things I had been told to love. It was in this time I also came out as bisexual to the people in my life.I began creating ornaments and cross stitch crafts that represent the ideas and fandoms that helped to define me as a person. I know that many people have drawn a similar strength and sense of belonging from these things and hope to create the same sense of nostalgia and joy in each piece I create.
As a member of the LGBTQ community and proud mother of a LGBTQ daughter, I find that inclusion and representation are extremely important and necessary for us to prosper as a society. I hope to provide a space and ideas that share these views and allow others to know that they are not alone. Love is Loveis Love and every piece I create is created with love and kindness and wishes for you to enjoy these works as much as I loved making them.
