8/19/26- I just want to say, I hope you are all having a wonderful summer and may our kids (if you have them) have a peaceful and safe transition back to school in the coming days! Things seem to be going well here so just wanted to wish everyone well.
8/9/26- Just a quick update I am home. Trip went well, stayed in state but had a blast at Great Wolf with the kids. Also received a few Amazon packages lately some with no names. Still want to say thank you! I will be updating my list again and trying to keep the registry updated and active for gifts and tips. This week I have a few follow up appointments but nothing major. Good news is the medication for my autoimmune issues seems to be helping a lot, even my newest thyroid nodule. Size has decreased in half in a matter of months. Amazing news for sure. 🙏. Between orders and the end of summer for the kids, I'm also in the process of working on writing a memoir. I've had a pretty crazy life and I'm trying sort it out. It's going to take a while to complete this project, as it's huge, but I will let you know when I finish it. 🌟. Hope you all are enjoying your summer and will talk soon!
7/26/26 - I just want to give everybody a heads up that I will be going on a surprise vacation Tuesday the 28th. I am not sure exactly what day I will be back yet. It should only be a few days I'll be going with the flow. I may leave my shop open during this time. Orders that are in my queue, will get done when I can. during this time priority orders will also need to wait but will still be taken ahead of regular orders. Thank you for understanding! Getting ready for the holiday season this year a little early. Doing well. Getting ready to schedule a few more tests including a new scan of my lungs to check for growth. It's been a while since my last update. RFA's are done in my legs and I put off more treatments for another six months at least for now. They want to do foam closures but I'm not feeling it. Neck ultrasound the other day shows a new nodule. 😭 Not ideal but not surprised, it's also small enough to wait it out at only .7cm. Last time was a long process and way too much in terms of testing but now I know what I'm in for. I'm more prepared. Trying to remember that everything happens for a reason and for now I'm hanging in there.

Seen vascular today. the next few weeks may be a little touch and go with readings mostly on Tuesdays. I will be going in for radio frequency ablations in all four major veins in my legs, one at a time. Ultrasound today showed my valves are non functional hence why my blood hasn't been able to return to the heart. I'll still be here though! 😌

2/3/25. I am doing well, my body is adjusting. super interesting night sweats. if you see me in public with the short sleeves and snow on the ground---you now know why. tumor was tested and came back mitotically active follicular adenoma. while mitotic activity is rare and usually a sign of cancer, the tell tale sign is vascular invasion which they did not see. thank goodness. For now, working on range of motion for my neck but even the inscion looks good. Dr did a great job! I still have my health issues for my legs and feet and chest pretty bad. was hoping it would subside. the more I think about it though, the more my body is adjusting still after surgery so I still want to have hope. thanks to you all for everything.
1/23/25. I am home, had surgery today. I'm in a lot of pain. best news ever. Nothing spread that they could see. probably will end up benign. I can't believe how much better I feel to breathe and drink water. I didn't realize how much it compressed my breathing. thank you
1/13/25 I just got cleared by my primary today, surgery is scheduled for the 23rd ❤️. I will be shutting down the day before and the day of, maybe a little longer to spend time with my Husband and kids. I will be back when I'm doing better and will update when I can. thank you all for sharing this journey with me.
1/4/25. Cardio is giving me surgical clearance. 😁 I'll take it. My neck is swelling more by the week so I can't wait much longer. Primary is waiting for my pre-op blood work and other labs in order to give clearance. Getting close though. still scheduled for the 23rd.

I have a surgeon and surgery will be January 23rd! they will take out whole one lobe and isthmus. will take up to two weeks to test for cancer. if lymph nodes are suspicious during surgery she can test those immediately but other than that will need to wait. 😊

Tampa is not going to work out. my insurance has a program for low cost and when I use it out of state it needs to be at a hospital signed up for the Connecticut low cost program thing. unfortunately they are not signed up so they can't bill my insurance. go figure. so for right now they are asking 20-30k. I can't do that, we cant do that. So I am going to keep looking and finding a surgeon who specializes in this. I do have a few appts this month for Drs. and still more to go. Hartford just pulled my records yesterday so hopefully I can get somewhere with them. it needs to happen quick and I wish they would've done it over a month ago when I switched to them....it took an er visit last week where my heart is beating too slow for them to really get rolling. if you haven't yet donated my go fund me is open. 10/22/24 Still awaiting surgical removal of the tumor thing and at least half my thyroid. Still awaiting pulmonary to look at the other nodule too. In the process of trying to switch surgeons to one that is a little more confident in me making it through. Also still trying to balance my pressure and pulse which both are all over the place. pulse rate very odd down in 40s and 50 s and it should be 60+. Need to be healthy enough for surgery but want to be where I have the best chances. Found out today that my Endo was informed of low level copy alterations of the tumor thing. I can't lie, it's abit concerning and it's something that should've been communicated to me. My health has tanked this past year and with the pregnancy I had so much hope and know this new bundle of joy is going to bring me that much more hope and positivity to carry me through. I'm ready for improvement. As much as Drs don't think I will improve because of the surgery, I beg to differ. It's been a journey and I need to focus on bettering myself just like I tell you all. Next big appt is Nov 15th! This is for a surgeon for another hospital that seems to specialize more in thyroid Cancers and everything, so I feel more confident too. I am beyond ready to know what I have been dealing with and what else is to come if anything after removal. I do need all your help, expecially if surgery comes before Christmas. My husband is great but is not gonna be able to cover everything for all six kids without my help. I started an Amazon wish list just search Samantha Hayden in CT,(Connecticut) usa for things kids want or could use. 8/5/24. Baby Juniper is doing well. Of course with the balance of life comes death. Our lovely fur baby Bean is in need of Euthanizia. She is over 13 years old, lost vision completely, hearing impaired, and is now a the point where she can't stand and walk. She always showed me that she wanted to lay in the grass in the sun at the end. Nows the time. so bear with me between the newborn and the dog requiring extra time patience and love.
7/26/24 8:36am We welcomed Juniper Jade Hayden into this world. 7 lbs 5 oz. I am doing better than anticipated.. it was a long day and finally able to rest. thank you all for your well wishes and prayers.
7/21/24 Meeting with a surgeon who specializes in Oncology tomorrow in regards to scheduling my tumor removal. I am scheduled to deliver baby this friday on the 26th via CSection, so get your orders in before Thursday! Thursday 6-12-24 marks 31 weeks pregnant and I'm so blessed to have come this far. Hasn't been the smoothest easiest ride but it's okay. I always got it! At the moment, Juniper is due to arrive on July 26th. When she comes or is ready earlier, I will be taking a few days to recover. After recovery we will be working on scheduling the much needed and anticipated thyroid surgery to remove the tumor and further test it. Drs want to see me recover from the birth first.
New update 2/1/23 thyroid tumor is hurtle cell adenoma. Can’t tell if it’s cancer until it’s out. it’s coming out after the baby does. at the moment please be patient having another hypertensive crisis. trying to get stable safe pressure

As many of you have known lately, I’ve been waiting for cancer results for well over a month and they should be in anyday. Some of the darkest days for me was on my birthday hearing from endo they are 70% sure I have cancer on my thyroid. They wanted to remove it asap but I wanted to wait and to go forward with further testing. After all, I have another nodule in my lung. testing will determine if it is indeed cancer if it has already spread because drs don’t worry about lung nodules under a certain size. they won’t even bother to investigate yet. Anyways no matter how bad the news is-I tell you all things always balance out and they are. Within a week of the negative news we have gotten some of the best news to lift spirits and bring an abundance of hope and a will to really push through. We were able to confirm it today on an ultrasound with a strong heartbeat. I’m due August 15th. it’s super early but I’m gonna fight all I can to get through this.
