Pretty Things on Paper
I started my shop in the summer of 2007, after my return from a two year, wonderful experience living in Russia. My husband and I got the opportunity to take teaching jobs at a small international school. During my time there, i taught High School yearbook and Art. During my two years there, my graphic design skills became far better than what i had learned in college, for my bachelor degree in Art. I would spend hours in the evening drawing away on Illustrator, drawing anything i could think of: birds, couches, trees, flowers, patterns, food, buildings... you name it, i had an image for it!
Once i returned to sunny Southern California, my plans was to look for my first ever job as a graphic designer, but my love for paper won and i opened my shop in August of 2007. My shop has been one of my greatest blessings. It became even more clear that this is what i wanted to do after my first son Calvin was born in 2008. I was able to stay home with him, enjoy my time as a first time mom, while running my small business. Since then i've had my 3 kids, Jack and Penelope. It can be a challenge to be a work at home mom, but at the end of the day, im happy i am able to do the things i love.
