About

One person trying to find their place in a big world.

It's The Loopy Llama is my way of trying to connect with the world. In the last 12 months so many things have changed and I have become extremely self aware and am learning to communicate and advocate for myself a lot better. I have always felt different and over the first 6 months of the last year the reason for this became clear. The last 6 months have been intensively searching and trying to find ways to learn to cope and finally start being able to understand and accept myself.

I am an (almost) 38 year old stay at home disabled mom of 2 earth side children. I am a wife, a daughter, a sister, an aunt. I also have High Functioning Autism (Aspergers), ADHD, OCD, and a variety of other anxiety disorders. Learning that I have Aspergers has been life changing. It has answered so many questions. That being said crocheting, drawing and other hobbies have proven to be not only a natural talent but also an amazing outlet for controlling my anxiety.

Every purchase made from The Loopy Llama goes towards helping me spread awareness about Autism and the fact that it wasn't just something that happened in the 1990's, but has been affecting people as long as people have been in existence. It helps me to be able to afford to keep on making things and let's me continue to put myself and my story out there.

A little history 2014 - 2016: I picked up a crochet hook in January 2014 and discovered I was a natural at crocheting. Just 6 weeks later on March 1, 2014 I opened this Etsy shop under the name "Paxton's Promise". My middle child, Paxton Lucas, was stillborn at 38 weeks 6 days on June 3, 2011. I made a promise to him on that day that I would do something in his memory and so Paxton's Promise was created. After 2 very successful years the stress of doing nothing but custom orders took it's toll on me. I decided I needed to shut down Paxton's promise and try to reevaluate things. In September 2016 I closed Paxton's Promise and went on a journey of sorts. So much has been learned about myself and the rest of the world that finally 1 year later I am now ready to re-open my Etsy shop.

Thank you for looking at It's The Loopy Llama. I am a very smart, interesting fun, happy and extremely creative person who happens to also be invisibly disabled which tends to make a lot of things in life a bit more challenging. Crafting is not only fun and relaxing but it is also extremely therapeutic for me.

I am an adult living with HF-ASD (high functioning autism), ADHD, and sevral other clinical diagnosis that affect both my mind and body. It is my hope by making things and selling them I will get to help spread awareness about things that affect my daily life so much that it is impossible for me to live a "normal" life. Things such as High Functioning Autism (formerly called Aspergers Syndrome), ADHD, etc. There are not enough people, doctors, anyone out there who know about how these conditions are affecting grown ups and not just kids. My life up until realizing and accepting my differences was very hard and I was always angry and stressed out. Going deep within myself to truly learn about myself has been an amazing awakening.

Product FAQ

Q: Do you accept custom orders?

A: Yes and No. I do not accept custom crochet orders, but I can do custom orders for other things.

Q: Can you send greeting cards/gift wrapped items or ship to a different address?

A: Yep, it costs a little extra but, hey if you time and money right!

Q: Can I get a rush order?

A: Usually yes. You will just need to pay for the rush fee and also leave me a note at checkout and please give as many SPECIFIC details as possible.

Shipping FAQ

Q: Why did my order say shipped but the tracking isn't working.

A: My Post Office refuses to scan anything, They act like it is not their responsibility.

Q: Have you pushed and spoken to management about not scanning packages?

A: Yes, I have spoken to every person at the Post Office and nothing is going to change as maddening as that is.

Q: What if my package gets lost or damaged during shipping?

A: If you did not purchase shipping insurance there is nothing that can be done. Once the package goes to the Post Office and leaves my possession I no longer control the fate of the package.

If you insured your package we will work together and follow the steps to file a claim.
