I have been creating my own clothes like hats and sweaters since I was 12 . My grandmother taught me how to knit when I was 10 and a few years later a friend showed me some basic crochet stitches. I have taught myself the rest following magazines, online videos, tutorials and instructions. It is a continuous and exciting process of learning and developing that I enjoy very much!
The idea of designing fun children's hats, animal hats and photo props came after my first son was born. I made him an owl hat and a scally cap. We received a lot of compliments and were asked where we got these adorable hats.
After tossing an idea of opening an Etsy shop around for a year or so, I have put together a lovely collection of fun designs for a whole family and opened my Jenia's Designs shop on Etsy.com in January, 2015. My shop grew since then but there is still so much to come! While working on one design I have an idea of the next design in my head! I always say that there is not enough hours in a day to bring all my ideas to life!
