My name is Jennifer Whiddon and I'm originally from Alabama but have been living in Savannah, Georgia for a very long time. I'm a true southerner where we drink sweet tea, call every soda "coke," bless your hearts whether you want it or not and where boiled peanuts are a staple. My southern drawl is thick as molasses, but don't let my southern charm fool you. I'll tell you the truth even when you don't ask for it.
I'm a Christian, truth seeking, animal loving, mocha drinking, martial arts black belt with superhero powers that can make a blooming onion disappear faster than you can blink an eye. I love bright, funky shoes, reading a good book, hate sad movies and books, love fast music and slow music makes me want to run screaming from the room. I'm still waiting on my Prince charming so if he is sleeping, someone needs to wake him up already. I love to work out, encouraging others to be who God made them to be. I have a quirky sense of humor and love showing it with my creativity and designing.
In college, I majored in journalism but have been a hairstylist since 1994 and owned a salon for 10 of those years. For fun, I started making jewelry in 2006 with a book and supplies in hand. I became serious about it 3 years later and entered local shows and online. I began making hand stamped jewelry, Swarovski Crystal jewelry, Hand knotting Jewelry and working with fine silver clay because I wanted people to be able to tell their story about who they are, where they've been and what they want to be. These were the perfect things to work with to tell those stories.
When I was little, my mom, Irene, used to read to me all the time. My favorite book, was "Go Dog, Go." I was 5, give me a break. Since then my love for books and people have given me so much joy. I love the stories my clients tell me when purchasing their pieces. I get to share my clients lives from around the world. I don't think there is anything better than expressing who God meant for you to be and showing it with the art you wear. It's a great gig.
Just a little FYI, My amazingly gifted Mom, Irene, also designing with me. Irene is a spitfire of a woman who has big heart and and talent to match. She sews while I pretend to know what she is talking about. If you ever get a hold of one of her recipes you wont want to share it but you will want to eat what you made. It's that good.
