More than a business; A moms path to healing after loss and postpartum depression
The Story of a Resilient Mother and Business Owner
The idea for a small business was born in the quiet hours of anxious anticipation, during the final month of my pregnancy. Each kick and flutter was a reminder of the precious life I carried, but also of the losses that had come before. After experiencing miscarriages, fear clung to me like a shadow, making it hard to embrace the joy I so desperately wanted to feel.
When my rainbow baby finally arrived, I thought the hardest part was behind me. But postpartum depression swept in like a storm, unexpected and relentless. I felt lost in a sea of emotions—love, exhaustion, guilt, and sadness, all tangled together. It was a darkness I never anticipated, and one I struggled to escape.
But amidst the chaos of motherhood, my small business became a light. It wasn’t just about making a living; it was about rediscovering myself. It gave me purpose beyond the sleepless nights and the overwhelming worries. It was a space where I could create, dream, and heal. Each order, each customer, each small milestone reminded me that I was more than my struggles—I was strong, capable, and worthy of joy.
My business was never just about selling something; it was about survival, about reclaiming a part of myself that had been buried under grief and doubt. And as I grew my business, I grew as a mother, too—learning to give myself grace, to ask for help, and to embrace the beauty of my journey, with all its ups and downs.
I wasn’t just a small business owner. I was a fighter, a healer, a mother, and a woman who refused to let her pain define her. And in building something for myself, I found healing in the most unexpected place—within my own strength.
