Frequently asked questions

How long will my ring, necklace and earring last?

Wood products are very much like love, if you take the right care of them you can have them for life. But not taking any care of it will result in a disaster that doesn’t last for more than a few months.

We like to wear our wooden rings, necklaces, and earrings all the time. When we shower, wash dishes, go for a walk, or do light chores. Under these conditions finish on rings usually lasts at least a year, while on necklaces and earrings much longer.

When the finish wears off, wood gets exposed and damaged so they need to be taken off immediately and get re-coated.

How do you take care of your wood rings, necklaces and earrings?

On the rings, we apply a new coat of finish about every year, while on necklaces and earrings it usually lasts much longer than that, but it really depends on how much we wear them and under which conditions. We finish our rings with CA glue, it lasts much longer than oils and wax and gives an extra shine.

You can apply beeswax, it will give the ring some shine and it will be smooth, it will wear off pretty fast.

What to avoid for a longer life span of finish:
❯ Harsh chemicals acetone.
❯ Over-frequent washing, drying, and scrubbing.
❯ Water for a long time, like swimming.
❯ High pressure (can snap).
❯ Anything that will scratch off the coating.

Refunds, Exchange and the Satisfaction Guarantee

❯ My ring, necklace, or earring lost its shine.
That's natural, but don’t worry we can fix that. You can send it back to us and we’ll do it for you. The service is free, you cover any costs created by getting the ring to us and back to you (shipping, customs, import tax...) - contact us for more information.

❯ My product broke.
We put on extra coating for durability but at the end of the day, it's still wood and it can break with a strong impact. It is actually uncommon but it can happen, contact us immediately.

❯ The ring doesn’t fit perfectly.
Rings are made-to-order or personalized so we can't take them back, we will make you a new one at 30% off the original price + the shipping costs. Please get in touch with us.

Are products 100% handmade?

The rings, earrings, and pendants are 100% handmade, all-metal components for the jewelry are bought from a reseller, though.

It takes hours of work to create each ring, earring, and pendant, and every piece of jewelry is made to order so each piece of wood is different and unique. The color and grain pattern of each wooden ring, earrings, or necklace varies. We love the world and we love wood, we try to take care of both when given the opportunity.

How do you get wood for jewelry making?

Wood veneer is mostly used for furniture where they only use large parts of it and all the smaller pieces are thrown away or burned. But those pieces of wood are big enough for us to make beautiful jewelry. We try to get most of our veneer like that and only buy those that aren't available in the local area.

All purchased wood is carefully selected and has either FSC or PEFC certification. For the protected wood species that are on the CITES list, our partners hereby confirmed that this type of wood was properly registered by one of their trustworthy partners with proof of legal acquisition before being placed under protection by the EU and according to the guidelines of the European Union Timber Regulations No. 995/2010 was introduced!

What does the “bentwood ring” mean?

To make the rings we use the bentwood method, we take thin strips of wood (veneer) which we wrap in a circle, and glue strips together. This way wood’s grain is oriented around the ring, which emphasizes the wood’s natural beauty and strength. By using the bentwood method, our wooden rings are way STRONGER than rings made from one piece of wood.

We use natural wood, which means all hardwoods will undergo the natural aging process and change color over time with exposure to UV light and oxygen. In general, while lighter woods tend to become a bit darker and richer, woods that begin dark will lighten up.

Do you offer any discounts?

Of course! We made a coupon for all orders over 500€, just copy the code and paste it in the cart.

10% off on orders over 500€: OFF10

How fast will I get the product?

Our products are all made to order, meaning that we don't keep any stock. It takes us from 4 to 10 business days to make the ring, necklace, or earring. It depends on the complexity and number of the product you ordered.

If you are in a hurry let us know beforehand and we can tell you exactly when can you expect the item(s) to arrive.

DHL will guarantee the package to arrive in a specific timeframe which could be anywhere from 2 to 7 days.

Standard post shipping doesn't guarantee the package to arrive in a specific timeframe, their estimations are anywhere from 5 to 30 days but overseas can in reality take up to 90 days.

You can get more accurate information about it from our store profile but keep in mind there is no guarantee.

I’m not sure about ring size, what do I do?

The most accurate method and the one we recommend the most is to get it measured for free at a local jewelry shop. If that is for some reason not possible or they don't do it for free, you can find below other good options to measure it correctly:

❯ If you already have rings that fit you, use the electronic caliper. Try to measure the inside diameter as wide as possible and that should tell you the ring size. You can send us the inside diameter and we will convert it.

❯ Use the ring sizer and try to fit on the finger the smallest one that still goes on the finger comfortably. Can be ordered on online markets.

I'm making a surprise and I am not sure about the ring size?

If you’re making it a surprise we have a few ideas:

❯ If they wear a ring that fits them perfectly, you can sneak it out and take it to the jewelry shop and they'll do it for you, usually free of charge.

❯ Ask your loved one what size of the ring they wear in such a way they won't suspect why are you asking.

❯ Go together to a jewelry shop and pretend that you want to check out for some new jewelry for yourself and ask the jeweler to measure your finger first and then in an unsuspicious way ask your loved one if they could also measure their finger.

❯ Use the ring sizer and try to fit on the finger the smallest one that still goes on the finger comfortably. (Do it when they sleep? :P)
