I do recycle as much of my packaging as I can. As long as the packaging is clean and still strong, it will be re-used. I care about our environment, and want to do my part to reduce my impact on our environment.

Love of wild animals
The paintings of desert animals began shortly after Swenson and her husband moved to Joshua Tree, California. Since the artist's husband is frequently gone on business, she spends a lot of time alone. The animals of the desert became regular visitors to their backyard, and after a time, she began to feel like she knew them, in a way. Their ability to survive in the harsh desert was inspiring to her. She began to do drawings and paintings of the animals she saw.
Swenson comes from a figure painting background, and has had an interest in portraiture for many years. When she paints animals, she applies many of the skills she developed after painting people. It is easy to see ourselves in animals, and Swenson monopolizes on that quality. She considers her animal paintings to be portraits of these wild things.

Swenson grew up in South Dakota. Her life has taken her to many different places in the US, including Hawaii, Colorado & Joshua Tree, California. Joshua Tree is where she began painting wild animals. She now lives just south of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
