Jacob and Louise
We have spent most of our lives on the Leelanau peninsula.
I learned to sew on my mother’s machine when I was five, piecing together scraps of fabric from her sewing projects. This process of turning nothing into something has always felt like magic.
Painting, drawing, and sewing all find space in my work.
Reflected in the things I make are my love for Leelanau county, my family, and the traditions we share. We love the holidays! I create a mix of home decor and children’s items made with mindful materials and packaging — gifts for someone you love.
Our work has been featured on the front page of Etsy.com, and on coolmompicks.com, popsugar.com, and babble.com.
I often create amid my three children who help, draw, paint, and make their messes alongside my own. My husband is my second pair of eyes and trusted design consultant.
Our home and studio are in the pines of third-generation farmland. We are raising our three children on this magical property, and our life here provides constant inspiration.
Jacob and Louise works in small batches and often in spurts while we grow in our children an appreciation for handmade goods and the skills needed to make them.
