Inspiration realized.
I have always loved to draw. Even from a young age being able to get an idea out of my head and onto paper thrilled me. Later on I realized that I could transfer what was on the paper onto the computer. Then it began.....
I began to develop my style of art on the computer just to relax after a long work day. This went on for several years, and I accumulated so many ideas as I would have one thought after another. Many times I was working on several pieces at once.
Then one day my wife suggested that I see if there was any interest in my artwork. My response to her was "This is just what I do to relax." This went on for a while until one day someone of influence who didn't know me said, "Your art is NOT just for you!" That was the turning point......
It took a couple years of research, and getting the artwork prepped for printing, but in the summer of 2010 we did our first local art show. We were scared, yet excited! We did 4 art shows that first summer, just to see if anyone liked my style and if there would be a market for it. We found out that there was! I won an award at one of the art shows that year, and was selected to do the poster art for another art show for the following year.
Since then my work has won several regional awards and has been featured in several places:
-Model Yacht Race - Honorable Mention, Lewiston Art Festival 2010
-Buffalo Grain Elevators, Showing the Grain- CEPA Gallery, Buffalo, NY Oct - Dec. 2011.
-Corn Hill Poster Winner 2011 - Rochester, NY
-Niagara Wine Label Series - First Place Graphics, Lewiston Art Festival 2012.
-Monaco Grand Prix - Featured in "Shop Til You Drop" Magazine Australia October 2012.
I have also designed logos and poster art for charity events that are close to my heart, benefiting The United Way, Children's Hospital in Buffalo, NY, and Niagara Hospice.
