I started my shop a few years ago but had a rough time getting started. In 2012 I was in a major car accident. I broke 18 bones, including my back and neck and had to take many months off for a major recovery period. I moved in with my boyfriend so he could help take care of me as I recovered. We live on a farm in Maryland. He built me a beautiful new studio last year and it is absolutely beautiful! It is the first room I have ever had that is totally devoted to my jewelry. And when I look out the windows I see sheep, cows and horses! Such an idyllic setting and it is perfect for the creative process.
I am still recovering and though I tried this year to get back out on the road to sell my creations at arts and crafts shows, it is just too much for my body. So I am now devoted to working more from my home studio, from making my jewelry to promoting it and selling it here at etsy and finally, shipping out to you for to to wear for years to come!
I am so very excited to unveil my recent brass and bronze gemstone line here online. It has been well-received at Washington DC's Eastern Market, the only outdoor venue I can really handle these days, thanks to my boyfriend who works there and is on hand to unload and pack up my stand at the end of the day. I do continue to work in silver, but have embraced mixed metals, the so called lesser metals, and realize that beauty is not always in the worth of the materials you use. It is what you do with the materials.
