Good day, my name is Jessie. I am an Ojibwe Anishinaabekwe from Whitesands First Nation located in Northern Ontario, Canada.
Beading became apart of my life when I use to watch my grandmother & mother do their beadwork. I'd sit and watch every step of them creating beautiful works of hand made Mocassins and Gauntlets. It became a hobby, starting with vamps for moccasins then, my work grew from there. From Beading Earrings, Necklaces, Coin purses, Wallets, Keychains, Lanyards, Hair Barrettes, Regalia Sets to Moccasins, Mucklucks, and Gauntlets. Plenty of People became interested in my beadwork.
I didn't know what I was getting myself into but with great challenges came the rewards of pleasing my customers with our one of a kind handmade/sewn items. Seeing how much they appreciated the beauty of this traditional works of art passed down from generation to generation. I'm glad to have been able to create each piece and keeping this tradition alive in everything I’ve created.
