Hi, I’m Jessica - the artist behind Jessica McCain Studio.
I create whimsical watercolor art inspired by quiet forest moments, storybook worlds, and the small details in nature that can make an ordinary day feel a little more magical. My work often features woodland animals, wildflowers, mushrooms, meadows, and other gentle reminders of comfort, courage, and hope.
My path to becoming an artist grew out of a deeply personal season in my life. After spending more than a year in the hospital with my son during his heart journey, painting became a place of peace, connection, and healing for me. It gave me a way to slow down, notice beauty, and create something hopeful during an uncertain time.
Today, I paint from my home studio in Virginia, drawing inspiration from the Pacific Northwest, where I grew up, as well as from motherhood, nature, and the stories we carry with us.
Each piece begins as an original watercolor painting and is created with care. My prints and cards are produced in my studio using archival-quality materials so the softness, texture, and detail of the original artwork can be enjoyed for years to come.
