Inget spöke, c’est moi, Jessica Woolard.
J’ai obtenu mon baccalauréat en photographie et peinture de l’Université de Louisville en 2006. Après cela, j’ai déménagé à San Francisco. Là, je n’ai plus d’inspiration pour la photographie et j’ai ressenti le besoin de créer des objets plus utilitaires. J’ai donc commencé à prendre des cours de céramique au Ruby’s Clay Studio and Gallery. De là, je suis allé à l’argile souterraine. Après cette fermeture, j’ai essayé kiln and co. Ressentant le besoin d’acheter une maison, je suis retourné à Louisville et j’ai travaillé au AA Clay Studio, à l’IUS ceramics et au Beechmont Community Center.
Une fois que le covid a frappé, le centre communautaire n’était plus une option, et j’ai eu un chien. Le chien était dans le besoin, et j’avais besoin d’un travail créatif et me permettant de surveiller le chien. J’ai décidé d’essayer la céramique pour gagner ma vie. Avec l’aide d’amis et de la famille, j’ai fait un aller me financer et j’ai eu un four. Et maintenant, je m’essaie à faire de la céramique pour gagner ma vie.

I got my BFA in photography and painting from the University of Louisville in 2006. After that, I moved to San Francisco. There I became uninspired with photography, and felt the need to create more utilitarian objects. So I started taking ceramics classes at Ruby’s Clay Studio and Gallery. From there, I went on to the clay underground. After that closed, I tried kiln and co. Feeling a need to buy a house, I moved back to Louisville, and worked out of AA Clay Studio, IUS ceramics, and the Beechmont Community Center.
Once covid hit, the community center was no longer an option, and I got a dog. The dog was needy, and I needed to get a job that was creative and allowed me to watch dog. I decided to try ceramics for a living. With the help of friends and family, did a go fund me and got a kiln. And now I am having a go at making ceramics for a living.
