How did we know ETSY?
Before we opened our ETSY store, we sold our items in New York City’s Street Fairs. In June 2013, we knew about ETSY from vendor next to us in the Brooklyn Park Slope Fair.
About JingCollection
My name is Jing and I use my first name as my business name. I have a 4 years’ old son, one of the major reason I set up my online store is because of him. As you know, most NYC street fairs happens on Saturday or Sunday, having an online store at ETSY saves me a lot of weekend time when I can accompany with him at home. I only join 4 - 5 street fairs every year after I set up my ETSY store in November 2013.
About My Shop
There are 4 people involved in my shop including my mum, my aunts and myself. Both my mum and my aunts are retired so they have time to help me and make some extra income.
Please see each person’s role below:
Jing - I am responsible for all website related things: creating listing; taking and uploading pictures; purchase shipping labels from ETSY and print them out; packaging orders; communicating with buyers; answers all questions and customer services. I also assist in simple sewing.
My mum Wan – She is responsible for production and finishing items especially items needed a lot of sewing. She is also responsible for my inventory such as checking quantity and sorting them.
My aunt Wendy – She is responsible for production and finishing items especially crocheting items.
My aunt Linda – She is able to help in both sewing and crocheting; she is also responsible for selecting and buying fabric / yarn when we need.
