How long should I heat the heating pad in the microwave?
Always start off with a minute. Some microwaves are stronger than others and may need more or less time. If you find it is not hot enough, add some time. Never heat it for more than two minutes.
Why do you mix flaxseed in your rice heating pads?
Flaxseed tends to hold more heat for a longer period of time. The mixture of both rice and flaxseed make for a more efficient heating/cooling pad. Not too mention it makes it a lot softer.
Can the heating pads be used as an ice pack?
Yes! I personally use mine mostly as an ice pack. The rice and flaxseed hold cold very well and the loose grains and cotton fabric make for a more gentle but effective cold.
