Meditating, Creating and Sharing
Every time I look at a mandala it always draws me right in – into its center and into the present moment, the eternal now. I see mandalas as an invitation to finding our own center, the joy within us. They are a symbol for the universe and life and show us the balance, beauty and divine order that can be achieved when we act from our center.
Painting is a spiritual practice for me, a time to be with God, asking Him to flow through me with every color I choose and every dot I paint. I usually paint in silence or listening to uplifting music and try to chant Aum with every dot, allowing this sacred vibration to infuse my work.
When I paint I am fully focused on the mandala. There are no distractions, only absorption into what I am doing. Just like meditation. I often paint right after meditating or do a short meditation before I start and ask to be guided to share light, love and blessings with anyone who sees my mandalas. I believe that when we see beauty we are transformed on an energetic level.
My teacher Swami Kriyananda said that when we enjoy something, it is not the thing itself that gives us enjoyment, but our ability to enjoy it. It is our inner beauty that resonates with the outer beauty that we see.
It is my joy to connect the light in me with the light in you through these mandalas.
May they be a reminder of your true, divine soul nature.
Joy to you,
Darshana
