Hubo un tiempo en que cosía para mí, luego me casé. Seguí cosiendo para mí, para mi familia, luego mis dos hijos crecieron, se casaron y tuvieron hijos. La abuela al rescate: comencé a coser para mis nietos y bisnietos y, mágicamente, kilómetros de tela se convirtieron en vestidos de fantasía, vestidos de muñecas, casas de niños pequeños, pero, por desgracia, los niños crecieron y la abuela recurrió a prendas de Fashion Doll Custom.
Por un breve tiempo, creé ropa elegante para perros para todos esos maravillosos bebés peludos que hay por ahí.
Una vez que dejé atrás esa etapa de costura, me aventuré a hacer nuevas muñecas, como las Ghastly Ladies y una American Model de 22". A medida que me hago mayor, me resulta más fácil coser para las damas más grandes.
¡Ha sido toda una vida de alegría crear hermosas prendas con Eye Candy Fabrics de todo el mundo!
Mi mayor gloria fue ganar el concurso de muñecas con mi hermoso vestido del siglo XVIII.

Juntas colaboramos en un vestido homenaje al "VESTIDO DE BAILE BLANCO OLYMPUS" que Bette Davis lució en "Jezebel" DE WARNER BROTHER. Fue muy divertido y es muy específico de la época, como los guantes, los pantalones y la falda con aros. El encaje fue elegido a mano por Joan y tuvo cuidado de seleccionar la tela adecuada para imitar la grandeza del vestido original. Ahora es orgullosamente parte de mi colección de muñecas OOAK Gene Marshall que comencé a coleccionar hace 10 años para mis nietas. Es muy probable que no estén tan ENAMORADAS de ellas como yo, pero es muy divertido disfrutar de estas modas con la comunidad Gene en general. Felicitaciones a Joan por su maestría en los diseños.

Once upon a time I sewed for myself, then I got married. I continued sewing for me, my family, then my two boys grew up and got married and had children. Grandma to the rescue: I started sewing for the grand children and great grand children and magically miles of fabric became fantasy dresses, doll dresses, little boy digs, but alas, the children grew up and grandma turned to Fashion Doll Custom garments.
For a brief time I created Fancy Dog Clothes for all those wonderful Fur Babies out there.
With that phase of my sewing behind me I ventured into new dolls like the Ghastly Ladies and a 22" American Model. As I get older the larger ladies are easier to sew for.
It has been a lifetime of joy creating beautiful garments from Eye Candy Fabrics from around the World!!!
My crowning glory was winning the Doll Contest for my beautiful 18th Century gown.

• Joan Binkley is one of the most talented seamstresses that I've had the pleasure of working with. Together we collaborated on a homage gown of the "WHITE OLYMPUS BALL GOWN" that Bette Davis wore in WARNER BROTHER'S "Jezebel ". It was so much fun and is so period specific to the gloves pantaloons and hoop skirt. The lace was hand chosen by Joan and she was careful to select just the right fabric to mimic the grandeur of the original gown. It is now proudly part of my collection of OOAK Gene Marshall dolls that I began 10 years ago collecting for my grand-daughters. They more than likely won't be in as much LOVE with them as I am, but it is so much fun to enjoy these fashions w/the Gene Community at large. Kudo's to Joan for her mastery in designs.
