Clever Upcycles and Unique Vintage Finds

It all began with Christmas stockings that I made with thrifted sweaters.
Odd shaped sweater scraps became hats for my gnomes! They really took off and I was known as "the gnome lady".
New skills and new scraps - Totes were made from Denim and fabric.
Searches for new bag shapes led me to Komebukuro - Japanese rice bags. Now I am "the bag lady"
Fell in love with the slow stitch process of Sashiko and Boro (visible mending) and am making patches and bag decor

My favorite job EVER!

IKIGAI - A passion that gives value and joy to life.
My passions are thrifting and creating. Sometimes the hunt will yeild an obvious treasure and other times the treasure is in the potential. The clever upcycle giving old things new life is my joy. My IKIGAI.

I am continually drawn to BLUES and GREENS in any medium. Learning new skills with INDIGO and SASHIKO & BORO stitching were a natural progression. Upcycling Denim and other thrifted fabrics with these skills is my happy place.
