Seeking: Creative Outlet.

For 10 years, My sister Cheryl and I have built this business, working long hours. Sometimes it has been frustrating, sometimes very gratifying. Mostly, it was FUN. Now Cheryl has retired, and I am adjusting to doing all the things myself. Cheryl has taught me how to dye yarn, and I am busily trying out what she has taught me and new techniques. NO WONDER she loved it so much. Dyeing yarn is kinda like magic.

My backstory:
My grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was 6. I fell in love with it, and crocheted as my creative outlet. When I was a teen, I realized I didn't like the clothes that were available in my size. So, I started sewing clothes and knitting sweaters for myself. I really liked knitting and took TONS of classes.

I have always been a creative person. I love to draw and paint and make things from simple materials.

My mother is a quilter and I love quilts, so I started accumulating a quilting stash. When several unfinished projects taught me that I would probably NOT be quilting a lot, but still loved knitting, I started making project bags from my stash for knitters and crocheters.

My sister Cheryl was tie dyeing fabric, and I talked her into trying some yarn (it didn't take much, she was looking for a creative outlet) and we started June Pryce Fiber Arts.

OUR NAME: We decided to use our Parents' names, to thank them for their support and encouragement in pretty much everything we ever wanted to do. We used their middle names, June is our Mother's, and Price is our Father's. we made a small change from Price to Pryce, added the "fiber arts" bit to explain what we do, and June Pryce Fiber Arts was born.

We started travelling to fiber shows, and kept our online shop the whole time. We were so fortunate to have all those "girls' weekends"! It was hard work, but also tons of fun.

Now I am dyeing yarn, sewing project bags, and beading stitch markers. My kids are helping by sorting supplies, pressing fabric and labeling products. I hope you like what I'm making!

Additional policies and FAQs
Frequently asked questions:

Custom Orders:
Custom orders are most welcome. I love to help make your project unique. If you don't see what you are looking for in my shop, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Custom items cannot be returned unless they are faulty. Postage costs will not be refunded.

Care instructions:
If you have bought hand dyed yarn or knitted items I would suggest hand washing your finished items with a gentle, suitable wool wash.
Hand dyed yarns may, on occasion, 'bleed' into your washing water - this is due to a little excess dye being left over from the dyeing process and should rinse out. If you wish to use a little white vinegar in your rinsing water this can help.

Wholesale availability:
Wholesale orders are welcome. Please contact me to discuss details. My hand dyed yarns can currently be found at Driftwood Yarns in Mystic, CT., Mermaids Purl, Wakefield, RI and traveling the country with the Bead Biz ladies.
