When I was young, I became interested in art and jewelry design due to my lack of mobility. I was born with a genetic bone disorder called Osteogenesis Imperfecta, or Brittle Bone Disease, which causes my bones to grow abnormally and break easily. Since I wasn't able to do many of the physical activities my peers enjoyed, I found great value in artistic expression at a young age.
Through my years of education, I learned several different artistic mediums and found that I enjoyed painting and jewelry making best. I have been painting, mostly with watercolors, since I was five and designing jewelry for the last twenty years or so. After graduating from Loyola University New Orleans with a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design in 2011, I began my own business, KAK ART & Designs, where I make jewelry, paint, and do freelance graphic design full-time.
