Textiles and complements from the Silk Road
Since long time ago, I like traveling so much, and in this way, I have been visiting distant places to meet peoples, and I have tried to know them better, mixing together in some way by means of their daily textiles, garments and personal jewelry. KAUWA is born out of this passion towards so different cultures and countries, mainly those related to the ancient Silk Road.
After many years of collecting personal souvenirs offered in markets, streets, handicraft items shops or by people I knew, I started building the project of using those raw textiles, stones and other items in new items with a design and functionality nearer to our preferences. Therefore I decided to open a shop, where I could offer my own designs of ornaments and decoration articles.
In KAUWA, each handbag, necklace of cousin has its own history, because, since stone, ancient kilims or ikat selection until its final preparation, every detail has been done with love and full dedication. Each new trip helps me to learn and create new designs, looking at persons and environments in an open and respectful way. I try to adapt each raw material to our uses, keeping the essence of textiles, leather, stones, etc.
