My Calligraphy story began as a hobby of medieval reenactment several years ago, in the Order of the Guardians of Zagreb, in Croatia, where I now teach medieval Calligraphy. I love this so much that I abandoned my formal profession of a Chartered Engineer of Geodesy, and started my Calligraphy craft heart-centered business ~ Kalidariart.
I wish to preserve and spread the knowledge of the letters, one of the most important discoveries of Human race, which I find very important, in this digital era we live in. And do so through creating personalized pieces of Art that will beautify, not only Your space but Your Life as well :-)!
Some of my works (medieval scrolls or coats of arms) are created in the medieval style, while others are more modern designed - but instead of trying to copy the Middle Ages, I want to give to these historical letters a modern outfit, which will fit into any modern interior. Every single item I create has a story, carefully crafted for the customer, with elements chosen for the occasion.
In addition, as I wish is to teach anyone who receives a gift like this, about what is on it, I write these educational information on the back of each gift, which adds them even more value.
Information such: what script I used and when it was used historically, what symbols and/or flowers I used, as well as their meanings.
All of my inscriptions are customized and handmade with calligraphy pen and ink/s, enriched with plenty of golden ink, painted with acrylic paints.
They are mostly made on high quality, hard paper, which I make look old aged.
Each of these works can also be printed and sent to you.
