KALLIOPE'S is a family-run rural lab and growing micro farm in the mountains of Lefkada island, Greece.
So, how did it happen?
In an attempt to summarise it,

Necessity #2 > to live close to and learn from nature, enjoy it, study it, let it show you your path
gave birth to KALLIOPE'S, driven by a passion to bring beauty in the world.
We produce organic virgin olive oil and various botanical treasures, as well as fruits. We ethically forage the local flora. We lovingly process our harvestings into products for the care and wellness of the human body and mind.
Our products are born from the pristine nature of Lefkas, made with the rich aromatic and medicinal plants of our land. Blessed with a favorable climate, Greece is a country rich in biodiversity, well known for its sublime herbs and an ancient tradition on the healing power of herbs.
Our knowledge draws from both traditional herbalism and modern scientific research, constantly evolving. The uniqueness of KALLIOPE'S formulas lies in their content in potent botanical extracts of the highest purity. That is ensured by our commitment to produce those extracts in-house, from wild or organically-grown plants.
Our ritual in making our extracts is intertwined with the seasons. We carefully and sustainably collect the magical herbs that only Nature nurtures. We plant and grow our plants with respect to the natural rythms.
The agricultural products contained within our products that we do not produce ourselves, we source primarily from other small local farmers, a network of like-minded earthlings. These ingredients may not always be certified organic depending on the farmer's economic ability, but rest assured that they are always pure -free of pesticides and chemical fertilizers- and cared for by a respectful human.
In times of great stress, we stand our ground. We are dreamers and artists, we want to live with Nature, we want our actions to pave a way - a healthy path - for the next to come.
As humanity is facing immense challenges, we believe that part of the solution will come from supporting one another, creating strong local and global community bonds and making conscious life choices.

We share the vision for a cleaner planet and a humanity more wise. We consider the problem of environmental pollution brought upon consumerism and industrialism too great to be silent about. Excess waste has become an apparent flaw of modern civilization and we hope to move towards a better appreciation of environmental sources through balance in everyday life.
KALLIOPE’S contributes to this collective change of mentality through the choices we make in crafting everyday necessities of ethos for you.
We promote a simplified beauty and self-care routine, without the need for an accumulation of many products.
Sourcing of ingredients and manufacturing process are kept as low waste and energy efficient as possible, while producing no environmental pollutants.
As for packaging, we prefer the choice of containers that are reusable and recyclable. Secondary packaging and labels are recyclable and/or compostable. We also offer the option of refills on several products.
•Key Ingredients•
•Our own pure virgin olive oil, produced in our olive groves without intervention to the natural cycles (no use of fertilizers and pesticides), an early harvest organic oil of very low acidity (0.2-0.6)
•Potent herbal extracts produced in-house, using leaves, roots, blossoms and fruits. The botanicals are either harvested from our organic herb garden or wildcrafted locally from pristine spots.
•Aromatic & medicinal plant distillates, such as essential oils and hydrosols. We distill these in our lab from organic herbs of our produce or from locally foraged plants. For the essential oils of plants that we don't cultivate locally, we source them either from small organic farms or from international certified organic sources.
•Unique Greek agricultural products, such as Chios mastic, Kozani’s crocus (saffron), Messolonghi sea salt and wild mountain tea
•Bee treasures, sourced from small, local producers - unrefined, unbleached and of superior quality
•Plant-derived active ingredients with multiple benefits, such as chamomile bisabolol, panthenol (pro-vitamin B5), allantoin, caffeine etc.
