"Home is Where the Art is"
I am a self-taught artist, and have been doodling and drawing for as long as I can remember.
I began selling my work years ago at a few local shops in my hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and enjoyed it very much, for quite a long time.
I discovered Etsy a few years ago after I moved to my new hometown of Edmonton, Alberta.
I spent one entire year prepping my Etsy shop for opening, taking my time to read a LOT of articles and helpful blogs about starting and running an Etsy shop.
Being able to organize my own shop and do it from home on Etsy was the perfect venue for me, as I work full time.
It is so nice to be able to work on my Etsy shop when I feel like it, when I have time, when it is convenient for me.
Since I opened my Etsy shop in 2015 I have been developing and expanding my line of products to include not just art, but home decor items such as switchplates, cabinet knobs and magnets. I also do custom work.
At the various shows I do here in Edmonton I also sell various other products that are not available in my online shop.
All my designs are my own work, and my original pieces are truly original as I rarely do the same drawing twice.
My book page bookmarks are a really unique gift item for those hard-to-buy-for friends and family members! I use pages from the many books and dictionaries I have collected (I am a book nerd!) and I actually prefer the older books that have weathered, worn, discolored pages because that gives the piece so much more character!
I really believe art is the ultimate personal gift to give. In order to select the right piece of art you must really know a person, and have an idea what they like. To receive a gift of art is a wonderful thing!
