A love of everything vintage
I create jewelry because it makes me feel good. I love to find old, discarded, even broken pieces of jewelry, clean them up and make them into something new and beautiful. I enjoy mixing materials and colors and modern and vintage components together to create one-of-a-kind, feminine pieces.
I do not have a set way that I design. Sometimes I start with a vintage pendant and pick materials and colors inspired by that piece. Other times I start with a gem stone or color and then incorporate vintage components into that color scheme. Sometimes I sketch, other times I just start picking up pieces. For me it is a mood or what is in front of me on my work space. I tend to gravitate to vintage or old pieces that are sparkly or have an interesting shape. They are even better if you see the worn spots, or a rhinestone is missing. I do not seek perfection in an individual piece, perfection comes when all the pieces are together.
Creating jewelry started out as a hobby and has turned into a passion, a companion, a love. I have watched my work change over the last few years and look forward to the changes in the future. I want to continue to incorporate new materials into my pieces. Fiber, buttons, fabric, paper, the sky is the limit. Jewelry as unique and individual as the people who wear it.
