Art As Connection
I’m an artist who’s passionate about music, aviation, travel, and nature. I make art in various mediums including watercolor, acrylic, pen, and digital art. I enjoy experimenting with many different art types and subjects because I think there is too much beauty in the world to commit myself to only one or two specialties!
I treat art as sort of a visual journal so most of my pieces are inspired by events in my life and have a story behind them.
I decided to start selling my art after making custom pieces throughout high school for friends and strangers alike. I spent most of my school years moving from state to state with my family and found that art helped me create strong friendships even when I didn’t necessarily stay in the same place for a very long time.
To me an art piece is not just an image, it is an experience, a sensation that has been captured in color and line. When you create a visual representation of a feeling you can share it with anyone in the world no matter their language or background. Through art there is understanding.
This is the primary reason I decided to sell my art because, well, it makes me feel good! It warms my heart when someone I have never met before messages me about feeling inspired because of my work. It just sort of reminds me of the goodness and connectedness of all humanity.
This is one reason that I decided to manufacture my products the way that I do. I wanted to offer items with a range of prices and sizes in order for my art to be easier to share. I offer large prints and hand drawn original pieces as well as a variety of small fun items like keychains, magnets, stickers and pins. I even partner with manufacturers in order to have my art printed on everyday items including mugs, tote bags, and phone cases.
