Announcement Hello and welcome to my little corner of Etsy. I am a linocut printmaker living in England, in rural Northamptonshire, with my family and the loveliest whippet, Spot. My work mainly features nature and wildlife. I hand burnish or use a roller press. You can find signed open edition linocut prints, greeting cards and stationery. Recently, discovery of shrink plastic has been made (never heard of it before!) which led to a little jewellery making venture. All pins, earrings and brooches are hand made from linocuts printed onto shrink plastic.

All about linocuts...

It is fair to say that i am pretty mad about linocutting! everything I see around me, becomes a linocut inside my head.

A linocut is a printmaking technique all done by hand. First I carve an image onto a sheet of linoleum or dense rubber block. I then use a roller to cover the relief in water based inks and print the image onto paper. Using this technique allows me to build up layers of colour and bring my creations to life.

With a background in graphic design I moved as far as possible from computer based work and I love getting to use my eyes and my hands to carefully create these unique prints that are full of life and character.

I run small introductory workshops, teaching linocut methods that can be done at home. See my website www.katlendacka.com or contact me for more details.
