I started Kate Said Yes one month after my own wedding. I crafted most of the accessories for my big day - except for my flowers. I was devastated when I had to throw away my wedding bouquet the morning after my wedding - I loved it, and it was dead!
I started thinking about all the items that we purchase for our weddings that get thrown away after the big day. How wasteful! I wished that I had created a special bouquet for myself that I could keep. And the idea for Kate Said Yes was born.
I started small - boutonnieres only, and then my customers started asking for custom corsages, bouquets, and hairpieces to coordinate with their boutonnieres. I branched out, and now I offer custom bouquets, bouts, corsages, hairpieces, centerpieces, and wreaths. I never in a million years thought I would be here two years - and almost 1,000 brides - later.
I firmly believe in using high-quality materials. Craft-store flowers are a no-no. When I am creating, I always ask myself, "Is this something that I would be happy to use in my own wedding?" I have high standards, and I think that is the best kind of quality control!
