Hi! My Name is Kathryn Duncan and I'm an artist.

I am a Michigan Watercolor and Acrylic artist, and fine art painter. I find my inspiration in nature's beauty, colors, and backyard wildlife. My artwork explores these subjects during ordinary, yet sometimes extraordinary, moments in time.

At the heart of my watercolor paintings is a desire to capture and communicate nature's beauty and essence. My focus is on creating realistic subjects with impressionistic backgrounds. I enjoy filling my paintings with luminous colors, light, and interesting compositions.

The focus of my acrylic work is small mini-paintings on canvas. I believe people really enjoy and appreciate owning original art. My subjects come from the natural world and consist of birds, hummingbirds, butterflies, and landscapes. These paintings are colorful, and sometimes whimsical. I enjoy working on a series of mini-canvas paintings.

My moto is: Artwork is a journey – you never get there! Enjoy the trip!

I am a member of the Ann Arbor Women Artists, and Brighton Art Guild. I show my art work at local juried and non-juried exhibits. My work can be found locally at Artistic Gift Shop in Dexter, and at The Eyrie in Depot Town in Ypsilanti. I have had an Etsy shop since 2011 at http://www.etsy.com/shop/KathrynMDuncan.
