I started KatrinaInvites in 2014 at 19 years old. Having always been a lover of crafts, I listed many different projects for sale. To be honest, there was no business plan - I just wanted to see what happened! Luckily, it took less than a year for me to find my crafting niche in the world of baby shower decor.
I was two semesters into college at the start of this business. Shortly after, I accepted an internship at Walt Disney World where I stayed for the next few years. My Etsy shop traveled with me all the way from California to Florida!
Eventually, I returned to the west coast to continue my college education with the goal of becoming an elementary school teacher. I completed my undergrad and teaching credential at Saint Mary's College. I feel extremely grateful that during this time my Etsy shop acted as a part-time job so that I was able to work from home doing something I love in between classes and studies.
Today I am several years into my teaching career. I teach kindergarten by day, and craft by night!
