Keeping the "Art" in Cartography
Hello. We are Keepsake Maps’ owners, Tracy & Justin Morrill. We have been making maps together as long as we’ve been married, 32 years and counting. There are two faces of our business: map prints and art for the consumer under the banner of Keepsake Maps and B2B custom mapping services offered since September 2000 as The Map Factory.
In 2013 we decided that we’d like to share our love of artfully designed maps with the public. That led us to create frame-ready map prints for sale on Etsy. We design map prints and sizes that the customer can have fun personalizing with colors, textures, icons, etc. We want your creation to be a unique keepsake of your special occasion, whether it's a wedding, anniversary, family vacation, or trip of a lifetime. We want to help you put your memories on the map!
We like to say that we are keeping the “art” in cartography. Our maps are different. They are each made by hand. Sure we use technology as a starting point for our maps – we want them to be accurate after all, but then we add the human touch. A hand drawn vignette, a little extra shading on the Alps, curving type so that it doesn’t crash into a river – it’s those little touches that make our maps special.
